Question #1: Should I Grow Out My Fringe?

We have all been really really busy these past few weeks so I do apologise - it wasn't really the best time to set up a blog with exams not that far away - but on the other hand, I have a number of posts planned for the next couple of weeks.

Okay so now I've started making different types of posts to make me continue blogging. First of all there was 'Dress Up' and now there is 'Question'. Question is a post where I have a question for all you readers out there and would really really appreciate an answer. So my question to you is should I grow out my fringe? I've been pondering about it for a while now. I've had it for 4 consecutive years now and I'm getting a bit fed up of it. I have grown it out and then got it chopped back in before so I can get it back.  I made a list of pros and cons for the change and included a picture of myself so you can see what it looks like at the moment.

Pros of no fringe:
  • A change of hairstyle
  • You can see my face
  • I can do different hairstyles
  • I can get it cut back in if I don't like it.
  • Easier to maintain
  • Hairdressers aren't going to cut my fringe squint
Cons of having no fringe:
  • It takes ages to grow out
  • I look really pale without a fringe
  • My hair looks very flat and limp
  • You can see my weird eyebrows

I am sorry that I am wearing sunglasses but I couldn't find any other nice pictures with my fringe looking semi-normal. I do like those sunglasses though ;)

All help is appreciated. :D Comment below please.

Christmas Tag

Q1: What item of clothing do you love to wear in winter but wouldn't be seen wearing in public?
I love to wear my dressing gown and my slippers when I get home from school. My house is often freezing so it's nice to be cosy and have pink fur with monkeys all over it.

Q2: Most wanted item for autumn/winter?
Some chelsea boots or even just ankle boots. I get a new pair of ankle boots every year and this year I haven't been able to find a single pair that I like! It's depressing and I have to wear my pair from last year that have wholes in them :(

Q3: Favourite boots to wear in the winter?
To be honest I don't really have a favourite pair of boots because I don't really have a pair this Winter. Except from my UGG's. They truly are extremely warm.

Q4: Are you a fan of UGG boots?
Okay, if I say yes then I know I will be criticised for liking UGG boots but if I say no I will be called a hypocrite for having a pair. I know that they aren't the most stylish/eco-friendly boots but they are so so so warm and my feet get really cold in winter and they go all numb and I can't feel them so yes, I am a fan of UGG boots.

Q5: It's snowing/raining outside, what are you favourite wellies to wear?
A couple of years ago my Mum bought me a pair of short black Hunter wellies for Christmas. They are my favourite because they look a bit more like boots than wellies and they also don't restrict my leg movements.

Q6: What is your favourite autumn trend?

Velvet. There is velvet everywhere and it just looks awesome. I love the feel of velvet except from when you stroke it the opposite way because then it doesn't feel nice.

Q7: What is your typical winter day consisting of?

Sitting on the couch curled up in a blanket watching films with my Mum.

Q8: Cup of tea, hot chocolate, or coffee?
Is it weird that I like none of these options? I would prefer a mug of warm blackcurrant juice. You should try it, it's very nice :D

Q9: Do you like or dislike that it's starting to get dark?
Well I feel like I waste my day at school and do nothing but I like that when it gets dark before you have your tea, you know that Christmas is just around the corner.

Q10: Christmas is coming, do you have any idea of what you want?
This may sound really materialistic but I really would like a new iPod. I feel like that my trusty 2nd generation iPod touch may be slowly dying. New apps won't load on to it, I can't update the software and most of the apps on it just crash. So that is what i would really like. But I would also like some more followers for the blog because then I know that all the effort I am putting into it is worth it.

Merry Christmas

Dress Up #1 : The Olsen Twins

Sorry about the lack of postage going on at the moment but we three friends are very busy people. Dress up posts are going to be saved for Saturdays when I can focus on different filmstars/models/singer/anybody-else-who-is-famous's style and give suggestions on how to get clothes like theirs. I decided to do a post a bit like the Lana one I did a couple of weeks back. The Olsen twins (Mary-Kate & Ashley) are the newest icons for the Undecidables. Technically, they aren't new because they have been around for YEAAAAAARS but I decided that maybe we should take a closer look at the style of the child stars. (Two of a Kind is still on the TV by the way!) The twins are slightly like Karl Lagerfeld in the sense that you hardly ever see them without the huge pair of shades covering their faces. When i see pictures of them I get a sort of bohemian chic/ stylish city woman vibe. This is due to the fact that nearly every single photograph i see them in they are wearing black and white or grey or another dull colour. Although sometimes you do get the odd splash of colour from a hat, scarf or a pair of shoes. Anyway.... If you want to dress like Mary-Kate & Ashley then I picked a few pieces that I think match their style.

Happy dress up!!

Live An Adventure

As you may already know, Millie, Maisy and I are busy studying for prelims. Everyone is pretty caught up in getting good grades so they can go to Uni/college and then get a good job. But then it occurred to me, that that sounds boring. Sure, I am super excited about going to Uni in the future.. but is it the known or unknown of Uni which excites me?
What is there in life that brings adventure? I am not willing to fit myself into a category whereby I study, get a job, get married, have kids and allow the cycle to repeat.. The unknown mystery is the adventure that appeals to me.
Maybe I'll pursue my dream of living in California. But perhaps I'll live in India for a year instead. Maybe I'll become a Pilot? Or I'll have a go at 'making it' with my guitar.
Why should it matter?
I think all this inspiration has come about as a result of my Dad signing up for round the world sailing race. Sure he's only going to do 1, maybe 2 legs of it.. But nevertheless it is a huge ambition. Taking on something new and unfamiliar is never simple. It certainly won't be for my Dad when he is sailing from South Africa to Australia  but we learn to overcome challenges and it makes us a better person. I admire my Dad for being willing to do something that pushes you to your limits, and takes you away from routine.
So I challenge you to think about your life and to do something different from what you expected, and to always grab an opportunity with open arms when it comes about. In the mean time work as hard as you can, because your best it just as valid as anyone else's best.
Apologies for a post of cheese about life

Hair Miracles

I am trying to keep up with the blogging and not begin to lag so that you all get bored so I decided to tell you about my favourite hair product ever!!! It's by VO5 and it is called Miracle Mist. It is supposed to "rescue tired, damaged fry or frizzy hair", now I wouldn't classify my hair as any of these types but it does make my hair really shiny, smooth and calm. If you can describe hair as calm?? I first tried it after my Mum bought some a while ago and I've almost finished my bottle :) I use it just after I've had a shower when I'm drying my hair, it kind of acts a detangler too. I really like the packaging as it isn't too in your face but not shying away at the back of the shelf at the same time. It is easy to hold (here is my art essay topics coming in) and the bottle is really smooth too. It is a pump spray and I like them as I don't like getting creams and stuff like that all over my hands. Anyway I thoroughly recommend it to everyone as it just makes your hair feel a lot nicer and it kind of tames it from the wind slightly. Only slightly but that is better than the lion mane look

My Favourite Mascara!

So when some people do their makeup, they have a 'famous' feature? For example they might always have bright red lippy? I, myself, personally like a good coating of mascara on my eyelashes!

For a long time I would buy a different mascara everytime I ran out. I found ones I hated, ones that were useless, too clumpy, too runny.. And in the end I've come to a reasonable conclusion! My TWO favourite mascaras I use are both made at an affordable price by 17!

The first mascara I use, to lengthen my lashes, is 17's 'Wild Curls' in 'Wild Black'. I've used for ages and even without using a second mascara it gives me extreme length and volume!

The second mascara I apply is also by 17 and is called 'Blow out'. I bought this one when it was promoted, and although it isn't very good for building length, when I have 'Wild Lashes' on under it, it gives huge volume!

Both mascaras are around the £7-£10 mark, and I would highly reccomend using either Wild lashes alone, or both together. You can buy them from Boots.

Sounds.

I have been attempting to revise for my prelim exams for the past few weeks and I have found myself sitting alone in my room with only the turning of the page interrupting the silence. So I have made up my mind to make a playlist of songs that I think we should all listen to whilst revising, although I do listen to these all the time anyway. Just have a quick listen as they are excellent. Okay, maybe some are a bit distracting and instead of putting your head down and working you will just want to get up and jump about your room. Just a heads up. :-)

Mars Bar Crispy Recipe

This is maybe one of my favourite traybakes. My mum used to make it a lot but then it stopped working so well so she stopped and we decided to make it again last night. A layer of chocolate on top of chocolate syrupy crisp bubbles. Doesn't that just sound heavenly?

Recipe makes about 18 pieces

Here's what you need :

  1. 270g of Mars Bars
  2. 120g of butter
  3. 1 1/2 tablespoons of golden syrup
  4. 120g of rice crispies
  5. 300g chocolate (whatever kind you like)

Instructions:
1. Line a tray with foil so that the mixture will not stick to the container.

2.Place the mars bars, butter and golden syrup in a pan on a medium-low heat. You have to stir constantly so it doesn't burn. When there are only a few nougat bits left, use the back of the spoon to squash them.

3. If there are still bits of nougat, turn the heat up to medium. Keep stirring until the mixture is smooth and  together. Take the pan off the heat.

4.Pour the rice crispies into a large bowl along with the mars bar mixture and mix the crispies up so that every single one is coated.

5. Pour the combination into the foil lined tray and press down with the back of the spoon so that the mixture is evenly spread.

6. Melt the chocolate and spread all over the rice crispies. It doesn't matter how you melt the chocolate but I used the microwave as it is quicker.

7. Place the tray in the fridge to set. However I did not put mine in the fridge because there was no room but it still worked fine although it is a little sticky but I like it that way. I also sprinkled the remainder of some cornflake bites on the top because my mum was going to throw them in the bin otherwise.

8. Eat until your heart is content.
