Get The Look: Outfit #1

Spring/Summer #1

“Buy what you don’t have yet, or what you really want, which can be mixed with what you already own. Buy only because something excites you, not just for the simple act of shopping.”

Dress Up #3 : Kate Moss

In an attempt to procrastinate this evening I scrolled through all my bookmarked pages. It is fair to say that I forgot about this blog. In a way it was in a state of decay of some sort. Anyway, I wanted to write a post just to get me back into the swing of things. I decided to do a 'Dress Up' because I am a polyvore addict..

In honour of Kate Moss's 40th birthday two months ago I decided to focus on her casual but always cool style. I don't know why but Kate Moss has always been somebody I knew of since I was quite young - probably because she was more often than not mentioned in my mum's gossip magazines.
Dress Like Kate?

As you can see from the above collage Kate has the ultimate cool style. Sometimes I do question her choices but then again she is an international supermodel and I am just a girl sitting on her laptop so I don't really have much say in the matter. Kate manages to pull off anything she wears and makes the whole outfit look like she just rolled into it in the morning. Her wardrobe consists of a lot of monochrome pieces with different textures. I googled her for this and the majority of her outfits were black and white. I never realised how much fur she wore. Lots of leather, lots of heels, lots of smudgy eyeliner and just lots of cool. The collage below has a few of my suggestions to recreate Kate's look. I tried to keep the prices down because if I was trying to dress like her I would want low prices. I'm certain that if you wanted better quality clothing you could find similar styles online. Links for all the items in both collages are below.

Dress Up #2 : Florence Welch (12/12/12)

Florence Welch Style
So for today's dress up, I decided to go for the redhead Florence Welch. I couldn't think of anybody to do it on for the past week or so, so I was inspired to do a post on the almighty Flo after I went to see her on her Ceremonials tour on Sunday. She was brilliant. Somebody started a fight and she started shouting at them and everybody started shouting her name. She didn't even wear shoes! Dress up posts are no longer just reserved for Saturdays by the way...  Anyway Florence's style is quite out there but at the same time slightly preppy (I hope she isn't offended by that). She seems to also like wearing long dresses, which I like because many people wear really short skimpy dresses and it just annoys me. I feel that Florence may have been born in the wrong decade because of the vintage look she has going on. Many of Florence's pieces are dark tones that have a brocade pattern. That was me trying to use a lot of adjectives so here is some suggestions on how to dress like Florence Welch. I do appreciate that many of the items are out of a regular person's budget(like me) but we can admire, can't we?

Question #1: Should I Grow Out My Fringe?

We have all been really really busy these past few weeks so I do apologise - it wasn't really the best time to set up a blog with exams not that far away - but on the other hand, I have a number of posts planned for the next couple of weeks.

Okay so now I've started making different types of posts to make me continue blogging. First of all there was 'Dress Up' and now there is 'Question'. Question is a post where I have a question for all you readers out there and would really really appreciate an answer. So my question to you is should I grow out my fringe? I've been pondering about it for a while now. I've had it for 4 consecutive years now and I'm getting a bit fed up of it. I have grown it out and then got it chopped back in before so I can get it back.  I made a list of pros and cons for the change and included a picture of myself so you can see what it looks like at the moment.

Pros of no fringe:
  • A change of hairstyle
  • You can see my face
  • I can do different hairstyles
  • I can get it cut back in if I don't like it.
  • Easier to maintain
  • Hairdressers aren't going to cut my fringe squint
Cons of having no fringe:
  • It takes ages to grow out
  • I look really pale without a fringe
  • My hair looks very flat and limp
  • You can see my weird eyebrows

I am sorry that I am wearing sunglasses but I couldn't find any other nice pictures with my fringe looking semi-normal. I do like those sunglasses though ;)

All help is appreciated. :D Comment below please.

Dress Up #1 : The Olsen Twins

Sorry about the lack of postage going on at the moment but we three friends are very busy people. Dress up posts are going to be saved for Saturdays when I can focus on different filmstars/models/singer/anybody-else-who-is-famous's style and give suggestions on how to get clothes like theirs. I decided to do a post a bit like the Lana one I did a couple of weeks back. The Olsen twins (Mary-Kate & Ashley) are the newest icons for the Undecidables. Technically, they aren't new because they have been around for YEAAAAAARS but I decided that maybe we should take a closer look at the style of the child stars. (Two of a Kind is still on the TV by the way!) The twins are slightly like Karl Lagerfeld in the sense that you hardly ever see them without the huge pair of shades covering their faces. When i see pictures of them I get a sort of bohemian chic/ stylish city woman vibe. This is due to the fact that nearly every single photograph i see them in they are wearing black and white or grey or another dull colour. Although sometimes you do get the odd splash of colour from a hat, scarf or a pair of shoes. Anyway.... If you want to dress like Mary-Kate & Ashley then I picked a few pieces that I think match their style.

Happy dress up!!
